While much has been accomplished during the past four years, for Accessible Sailing Adventures to become a reality, the project still needs help. Money is always needed; help is needed to drive the remaining 2,000 or so steel spikes into the hull. The project needs donated time from a crane large enough to lift the 60-ton RAWFAITH and set her down in the Pleasant River. The RAWFAITH needs fittings: about 50 shackles and other hardware and all the outfitting for the head and holding tank and galley. She needs a spool of one-inch anchor line, food for the maiden voyage and an upgrade for the ASA computer system. Jo Anne McKay needs help buying perishable foods and preparing meals for the eight-man crew and other volunteers. And last, but certainly not least, ASA needs an experienced captain who will share his expertise with McKay on the preliminary voyages. The McKays can be reached at (207) 483-2080, through their web site, www.assistedsailing.info, or at webmaster John Davis’ e-mail, ivanachukapawn@yahoo.com.
