Marci Train’s class on Long Island has completed a unit on Dental Awareness, and is seeking donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to send to Haiti with Jan Carter, a social worker who visited the class.
“Jan told us all about the people that she helps in the country of Haiti. We are concerned because they do not have any toothbrushes to take care of their teeth,” the students wrote in a letter to dental professionals.
“We are asking you to donate any extra toothbrushes or toothpaste to help our Haitian friends… It is our hope to teach the people in Haiti about dental health. We would like to see them smile.”
Donated supplies may be mailed to Mrs. Train’s Class, Tooth Project, Long Island School, 33 Fern Ave., Long Island, Maine 04050.
