Dear Rusty:
I have always enjoyed reading your articles in Working Waterfront. I was horrified to read about what happened to your dear cat and what didn’t happen to the perps. You are entirely justified in wanting to know is “Something Wrong here?” The answer is – obviously yes! I was happy to hear that the [guy] who did it got a good pounding, but it is unacceptable that that was about the only punishment he got. For my part, I plan to write a letter or two accompanied by copies of your article. I hope that there is a hue and outcry as a result of your willingness to bring this story to light, and that it brings some measure of justice. I can’t think of a more heartbreaking way to lose a beloved pet; you certainly have my sympathy.
