Film-making for teens & August theatre camp:
Know a young person who thinks making movies might be cool? Don’t miss Cecily Pingree’s one-week Intensive Documentary Film-making class for teens ages 13-19. Working together, students will plan, learn how to interview and operate a camera, shoot a film, edit, and then do a public showing of their group films. They will work with professional digital camera equipment and edit their film on computers. All equipment provided. Classes will meet intensively from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (with Saturday afternoon screening of group film). Cost: $150 year round resident, $300 seasonal resident.
“Acting for Kids” for children ages 4 – 7:
Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon
“Creative Acting” for students ages 8 – 13:
Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be three sessions and students may attend one week or all three: Session 1, Aug. 2-6, Session 2, Aug. 9-13, Session 3, Aug. 16-20. Cost: $100 per session year-round resident, $200 seasonal resident.
Little Women:
A two-week run of the premiere of “Little Women”, a new musical based on the beloved novel by Louisa May Alcott. “Little Women” opened over Memorial Day weekend to a sold-out crowd and rave reviews. Starring the citizens and students of North Haven and Vinalhaven. Playing Aug. 1 (matinee at 1 p.m.), Aug. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, (at 7:30 p.m.), and Aug. 8 (matinee at 1 p.m.). Call 867-2100 for tickets.
