The Island Institute has formed a partnership with Andy Horner to manage its Boat Donation Program. Horner has been involved with Maine boating for 22 years, most recently as sales manager for Morris Yachts. He holds a 100-ton Coast Guard license, is very familiar with all types of power and sailboats and is well established in the yacht brokerage business. His home and office are in Northeast Harbor.
A boat donation to the Island Institute eliminates the stress and expense of ownership and can a favorable impact on one’s tax return. Income from boat gifts goes directly toward sustaining Maine island and coastal communities.
Horner will respond promptly to all inquiries regarding boat donations. The donor is required to provide an appraisal of the value of the vessel.
