A new scholarship fund has joined the Island Institute’s array of opportunities for island students who wish to pursue higher education.
“We are excited to announce the new Otter Island Fund, made possible by an anonymous donor whose family members have graduated from the schools named in the new scholarship,” said Peter Ralston, executive vice president of the Island Institute.
“This new program will greatly increase the reach of the Island Institute’s scholarship program, providing up to $5,000 to any island student for each year they are enrolled at one of the eligible secondary and postsecondary institutions.”
Any year-round island resident who attends one of the following secondary or post-secondary schools can receive this special $5,000 scholarship, which is renewable for each year that the student attends an eligible school. Secondary schools included in this fund are Groton School, Northfield-Mt. Hermon School, Pomfret School, and St. George’s School. Eligible colleges and universities include Colorado College, Connecticut College, Duke University, Harvard Business School, Texas Christian University, University of Utah and Vanderbilt University.
